Brunello triumphs at the 2014 national rapid championships in Fano

Grandmaster Sabino Brunello (registered with Club 64 for 2014), who will defend board two for WorldTradingLab Club 64 in the imminent Master finals (30 April - 4 May), dominated the 2014 national rapid-play finals, held for the fourth consecutive year in Fano. Sabino became Italian champion in the blitz discipline (3 minutes + 2 seconds) and in the rapid discipline (15 minutes), and Italian vice-champion in the rapid discipline (30 minutes), behind IM Guido Caprio. Also among the prize-winners in their respective categories in the 3-day full immersion were WGM Olga Zimina, FM Michelangelo Scalcione, M Antonio Lapenna, CM Elisa Chiarion and 2N Paolo Sarti. As always, a large and combative Club 64 delegation at the Fano rapid finals, which can boast the participation in the 3 tournaments of the strongest players in Italy.
